About David Li
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Li moved to the east coast to attend Tufts University School of Medicine before entering his residency at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program. During his residency, he underwent rigorous training under the mentorship of multiple renowned procedural dermatologists across the Harvard affiliated hospitals. Dr. Li is a versatile and detail-oriented clinician, with in-depth training in general, medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
In particular, he has a specialized interest in the following domains:
Surgical treatment of skin cancers as well as removal of benign skin lesions.
Pigmented lesions such as atypical moles and melanoma. During residency, he cares for patients on a weekly basis at Dana Farber Cancer Institute who had a history of melanoma.
Application of cosmetic and laser technologies to treat a wide variety of skin conditions to help patients look their best.
Dr. Li understands that every patient is unique, and he takes time to customize treatment plans to meet each patient’s individual needs. He is passionate about advancing the field of dermatology through patient care, research, and innovation. He has published extensively within the field, authoring several dozen published articles in prestigious journals such as JAMA Dermatology, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Cell Science, and the British Medical Journal (BMJ). His research is focused on the exploration of novel technologies to improve the diagnosis and management of skin conditions. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Li can be found practicing the guitar, engaging in strength training, cooking, and playing with his Australian Shepherd.
