About David Geist
Dr. Geist is a fellowship-trained surgical dermatologist with expertise across a wide range of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. He specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery for removing common skin cancers. He is committed to evidence-based, effective skin cancer management and reconstruction with individualized treatment plans for each patient. His goal is for every patient to be informed and feel comfortable when coming for surgery with his team.
After attending Yale Medical School, Dr. Geist completed dermatology residency jointly at Boston University and Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Geist followed this with a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at UMass Medical School. Prior to joining APDerm, Dr. Geist served as the Clinical Chief for Dermatology at UMass Medical School where he was an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Geist is the Medical Director of Dermatologic Surgery. His professional interests include high-risk cutaneous oncology, Mohs reconstruction, melanoma management, immunosuppressed dermatology, leadership development, and quality improvement.
Dr. Geist is an active committee member in the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology as well as the American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
