Is Your Scalp Flaky?

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes red, flaky, and itchy patches on the skin. It often appears on areas with lots of oil glands, like the scalp, face, and sometimes other parts of the body, like the chest or back. The skin may look greasy and have white or yellow scales. While the exact cause isn’t completely known, it’s thought to be related to an overgrowth of a natural yeast on the skin, as well as factors like genetics, stress, and hormonal changes. Although it’s not contagious, seborrheic dermatitis can be a long-term condition that may flare up occasionally, but with proper treatment, symptoms can be controlled and managed.
